Found out a few days ago (!?) about the details of Peter Tosh's assassination, as He just returned to His Jamaican home after touring the US for the promotion of His last record, No Nuclear War... on a 9/11 symbolic date for major NWO crimes.
As it stands out today... Tosh was murdered for being too direct in His pledge
against war mongers and political powers... too provocative, let's say.
Extract...
Peter knew of the evils which prowled, laying hidden, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. He was a saint sent to save the world from the duppies and the vampires, whom the devil had sent to create mayhem and destruction. When Peter was once asked who the biggest vampire in Jamaica was, he replied,"Lucifer". Wielding more power than any of the mortals whom he had sent to spread badness, Lucifer was the one whom Tosh feared more than any. In one interview that he gave Peter forewarned that one must be careful of his friends because a friend is easiest to deceive, for you already have his trust. This statement was all too prophetic.
On September 11, 1987 Peter Tosh was murdered by three intruders. The leader was a man named Dennis 'Leppo' Lobban, a man whom Peter had befriended and tried to help find work after a long jail sentence. The three came in demanding money and when Tosh told them that he did not have any with him they simply shot him. Dennis Lebbo turned himself over to the authorities, and was tried and convicted in the shortest jury deliberation in Jamaican history, eleven minutes. As for the other two assailants, neither were found, although the rumor is that both were gunned down in the streets. Whether this was purely a robbery, or an assassination plot is yet to be determined. Many believe that there were ulterior motives to the killing, citing that nothing was taken from the house. Peter neither resisted, nor did he cause commotion. The government had been trying for years to eliminate Tosh, a feat which was finally accomplished at the hands of his friend. The vampires which had been haunting Peter throughout his life finally caught up with him. In one interview he gave the year that he died he had this to say: "Vampires don't come out and bite your neck anymore. They cause...something destructive to happen that blood will spill and those invisible vampires will get their meals (Boyle, Word, Sound and Power 4)."Peter Tosh was martyred at the age of 43.

After the works by Nikodemus on Nina Simone tracks...this one is the 2nd of the Remixed & Reimagined series. When I discovered this real fine record full of beats & loops,
Keith Jarrett 's most inspiring record for me is Changeless , as I had the Cd during the time I spent in Paris, back in 1989.
Since it is the 48th record released by the prolific pianist, after 20 years of jazz career, one could admitedly ask : but why this album? So here is the catch...
I lived for few moons with this girl who's parents came from Mali and Guadalupe... and we would make love only on this particular music.
Her father had a dog...an Afghan Hound named Alexander
who use to sit on his bottom on the sofa,
straight with the front legs joined , watching TV just like U and Me!! ,,, just more calm.
The man was fond of playing Pachelbel's Canon overnight on repeat mode
and would make me swallow gallons of a strong (non alcoholic) Ginger brew
which He was fabricating quite proudly, in hope for progeny!

Since the previous post on Loreena McKennitt is one of the most sought after around the blog,
thought I'd put up another similarly delicious bag of tracks from her "Eclectic Celtic" repertoire.
5.0 out of 5 starsThe greatest album by the greatest band. No exaggeration., June 12, 1999

This review is from: Doolittle (Audio CD)
The Pixies are one of the greatest bands ever, as innovative as Hendrix, the Beatles, and Dylan were in the '60s. Not only were they innovative and original, but so far ahead of their time that Rock is still catching up.
It's hard to write a review of a Pixies album without gushing over the band instead of the album, but there's more than enough praise for the band on this page, so I'll get right to the album. Doolittle is, quite simply, the Pixies best album. It is an absolute masterpiece. There is no filler whatsoever. It starts out with the incredibly catchy "Debaser", moves into "Tame", which moves so incredibly well between quiet whispers and screeching (but somehow melodic) vocals. And then there's "Wave of Mutilation", a wonderful bit of surf music reminiscent of the Beach Boys. And "I Bleed", a spectacular duet between the anguished voice of the lead singer, Frank Black, and the sickly-sweet crooning of Kim Deal, who went on to form the Breeders. Then there's the pop masterpiece, "Here Comes Your Man", the anxious "Dead", the powerful "Monkey Gone to Heaven", the disturbing "Mr. Grieves"... And that's only the first eight songs, out of fifteen incredible, unbelievable tracks. I could go on at great length about Doolittle, but it truly is indescribable. Borrow a copy from a friend if you're not sure, but somehow you must listen to this album. Once you do you'll never look at Rock & Roll the same way again.
Just unwired this from torrent, dudes! Let's give thanks!
As I was checking the web for existing lossless version of "Roots To The Bone" (post 107) before to publish it yesterday, I stumbled upon this other record from Rico.
Warrika Dub features the dub versions of the 9 songs comprising the legendary Man From Wareika album, which Roots To The Bone is a 1995 extended CD reissue.
Whether this album is as good as I think it is or just touches me in some way, it's hard to know. You'll just have to get it and listen for yourself. I remember hearing it in the 1980s and couldn't find out which album it was; only now have I managed to get hold of a copy. A prototype of "world music," it's laceratingly beautiful and hypnotic. Shankar's string playing is supremely evocative, mystical whilst not being New Agey, and Jan Garbarek's lyrical sax is serene and haunting. The title track is a master work, and the whole album gets better the more you listen to it.
