As I was checking the web for existing lossless version of "Roots To The Bone" (post 107) before to publish it yesterday, I stumbled upon this other record from Rico.
Warrika Dub features the dub versions of the 9 songs comprising the legendary Man From Wareika album, which Roots To The Bone is a 1995 extended CD reissue.

Ino, took me way beyond 2 weeks to get back 'home' and unearth that Rico Rodriguez record from the suitcase in which it was lying dormant for years. I did a mp3 rip back then and was happy with that.
Then, Uno... everything changes.

I have been on the look for anything by or with Rico Rodriguez for ages. And it's been pretty scarce.
My own Cd of his last release, Roots To The Bones, is awaiting a Flac rip... which will be done as soon as I reach home, in a week or 2 ..... so, stay around!
How happy was I, then, to notice a recent post(*) on a friendly blog featuring his

One of the Reggae Fathers, Burning Spear is a true mystical figure. Just try to imagine a 65+ years old rasta groovin & jumpin on scene, while smoking huge sensi splifs, a big smile on his face. That's our Winston !
Nyahbinghi would have remained an obscure word and exotic to everyone,
if Reggae music didn't exist.
However, since Bob Marley's cracker, Redemption Song, the warm heart-beat rythm of Nyahbinghi became an instant favorite to anyone who heard it.
(Death Metal fans non-included...).
Little did We know, then, that this tempo is the base for the chants performed
during Rastafarian ceremonies in Jamaican gatherings.
